Volunteers will gain a unique perspective on elephant welfare and conservation by immersing themselves in a week-long experience with nature.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to work a whole week interacting with Asian orphan elephants at Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela.

They can spend two days with an overnight stay at an elephant sanctuary in Wasgamuwa to experience the human-elephant conflict firsthand.

We provide the volunteers with the opportunity to travel through large herds of elephants at Minneriya National Park and participate in ethical elephant tourism activities.

Volunteers will gain firsthand experience and understanding of the human-elephant conflict by visiting a remote village at Hadapanagala in Monaragala District.

They can promote elephant welfare and conservation as responsible travellers by providing direct financial assistance to a local family affected by the conflict.

The volunteers can visit the Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka, to observe and study, the respect the entire Buddhist society has towards elephants. They will also have the opportunity to meet a Mahout (elephant caretaker) and discuss the behaviour of tamed elephants in Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka.

Volunteers can visit Eth Aturu Sevana and Yala National Park to learn about elephant conservation efforts.

Besides engaging in elephant welfare and conservation activities, the volunteers can explore off-the-beaten-track destinations.

During their volunteer program, participants can visit the ancient grandeur of the ruins in Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya rock-fortress.

Also, they can visit Nuwara Eliya and observe how a tea factory functions.
