This volunteer project aims to improve the English conversational skills of Kids, Monks, Women and Youth in Sri Lanka.

Your Role As An English Teaching Volunteer

Your Main Task
As an English teaching volunteer in Sri Lanka, you will be responsible for improving the conversational skills of the group assigned to you by creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages young people to practice and develop their English-speaking skills.

Program Requirements
While specific educational qualifications or experience in teaching English can be beneficial for a volunteer in an English teaching program, they are not compulsorily required. What is most important is having a passion for helping others and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
A solid grasp of the English language will enable you to succeed in this endeavor as you will be teaching conversational skills to youth with limited exposure to the language. Native English speakers may have an advantage in this area, but it is also important to be patient and willing to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of your students.
Above all, you should be kind and compassionate and enjoy working with and around local people. Building strong relationships with the community can create a sense of trust and make your teaching more effective. You should also be flexible and open-minded, as you will likely encounter different cultural norms and expectations in Sri Lanka than what you are used to in your respective countries.
