Nagenahiru Volunteers established in 2022 as an International Volunteer placement organization, affiliate to the Nagenahiru Foundation which is a Non-Governmental Organization operating in Sri Lanka since 1991 for the conservation of nature for the future generation while facilitating the society to live in harmony with Nature.
As to address the present needs of younger generation around the world, Nagenahiru Foundation promotes Nagenahiru Volunteers as a non-profit organization providing opportunities to experience on the nature, cultural values as well as still available indigenous knowledge in this small island nation of Sri Lanka. Since the inauguration of Nagenahiru Volunteers Nagenahiru inspired people of all age’s especially, young people to learn about wonders of natural world. We always share knowledge and skills with the community to conserve nature whenever possible. Furthermore we provide all-inclusive experimental learning programs that fully interact with local communities in creating harmony with nature.

In most of the rural villages in Sri Lanka Early Childhood Educational facilities are poor. In most villages there are no qualified talented teachers to teach English to these kids. The International Volunteers will be able to fill this gap while experience the friendly lifestyles of Sri Lankan villagers while spending few weeks with these friendly people in a unspoiled beautiful villages.
The International volunteers teaching English to youth engage in doing an excellent service to kids of this developing nation Sri Lanka.
Volunteers will be able to practice different techniques for teaching by providing opportunities such as Learning through play Games are an excellent way to engage children in learning English. Use play activities, such as memory games, songs, stories and puzzles, to get children to associate language with fun and actively participate.
When Volunteers conducting teaching English to their children volunteers will be very popular among their young mothers.
In most of the women living in rural villages are socially, economically and culturally isolated. They are lack of land rights and economic rights.
With the guidance of Nagenahiru Foundation they will be empowered with the fullest cooperation of volunteers working with them.
This will be achieved with the establishment and strengthening of a communal institutional mechanism for women living in rural villages to enable them to participate in their own development process.
Finally with the guidance of the Nagenahiru staff the volunteers will be able to strengthen the voice and capacity of the women living in rural villages and their community groups in the villages they served.
The volunteers undertake the Entrepreneurship development with the NF volunteers will be concentrate developing background of the idea that entrepreneurship can be catalyst for economic and social development of the youth and their communities.
During the service period of volunteers on entrepreneurship development will identified at least one successful enterprise mange by young persons in the area as to improve the knowledge and skills of the visiting volunteer as well as participating youth group of the area.
Finally Nagenahiru Foundation will make all arrangements with financial institutions as to provide to initiate a small business by the selected trained young persons.
