Mangroves are vital to maintaining the coastal ecosystems' sustainability while mitigating global climate change. Restoration of mangrove swamps is a community-based solution that allows for the addressing and reconverting of the services of mangrove ecosystems for human well-being and the conservation of coastal biodiversity.

Nagenahiru actions related to medicinal plant conservation focus on restoring traditional health knowledge and folk traditions associated with medicinal plants through promoting sustainable use of threaten medicinal plant species.

To make a difference by volunteering with ecotourism to facilitate sustainable conservation and traditional livelihoods of lake communities Nagenahiru Volunteerss run accredited ecotourism for international tourists at selected natural and cultural sites in Sri Lanka.

Volunteers will gain a unique perspective on elephant welfare and conservation by immersing themselves in a week-long experience with nature.
